PT Office Assistant

Location: Flint Repertory Theatre
Reports to: Education and Administrative Director
FLSA Status: Non Exempt

General Description
The Flint Repertory Theatre’s Office part-time Office Assistant will provide administrative assistance to all aspects of Flint Repertory Theatre’s programs. The position reports directly to the REP’s Education and Administrative Director, and is responsible for providing support to the front office when necessary.

• Support the front office and be a direct back up for the following:

  •  Answering main phone line
  •  Photo-copying and faxing
  •  Providing lobby presence
  •  Allocation of Tuition Assistance
  •  Education class registrations and group sales, as needed


• Coordinates the Learning Through Theatre Series in conjunction with the Education and Administrative Director



  • Process all ticket reservations form for LTT performance
  • Secure transportation for Flint Community Schools to attend LTT performances
  • Track use of funding for tickets and transportation of groups attending performances
  • Create seating charts for every production
  • Be at all LTT performances


• Serves as liaison with The Ticket center for all applicable aspects
• Maintains accuracy in the processing of cash, check and credit card payments
• Provides end-of-day batch reports and income reconciliation for all sales, when necessary
• Processes and delivers daily deposits, as needed
• Maintains a professional front office/lobby appearance
• Ensures the security of all cash, checks and unsold tickets
• Participates in Special Events, as needed
• Attends all Flint Repertory Theatre staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned



• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office

  • Experience with Tessitura ticketing systems preferred


• Ability to maintain a calm and cheerful manner when under pressure
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
• Cash handling experience highly desired
• Exceptional attention to detail
• One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in customer service
• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in professional office environments
• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
